Consecutive

In meetings and interviews

Consecutive interpreting is commonly used for meetings, conferences, and business interviews or visits. In this style, the speaker being translated pauses during their remarks for the interpreter to convey the message to one or several persons in the target language. This system consists of two distinct phases: in the first, the speaker makes their remarks while the interpreter takes notes; in the second, the interpreter translates the remarks while the speaker waits for the interpreter to complete the translation of the fragment at hand.
